Futures Festival
On Friday 17th - Saturday 18th February, 2012, the first ever Futures Festival took place at Southampton Uni!
- On Friday students from Southampton, Solent, Winchester and NOC teamed together to put on an ethical fashion show. Models wore a range of trendy and vintage fashion-ware from a local Southampton boutique. Meanwhile, a swap-shop allowed people to trade old clothes for something new, and loads of ethical freebies were given away.
- The Saturday was the day of the Southampton Climate Forum, a day of inspirational talks, interactive workshops, and chances to chill out and talk about the issues.
Over one hundred Medicine, Geography, Physics, Oceanography, Environmental Sciences, Marketing, English, History, Economics, Climate Modelling, Computer Sciences, Archaeology, Fashion, Photography, and Philosophy students all came together for one event, to meet like-minded people, get informed, have fun and discuss what they want their collective futures to look like.....oh and to eat lots of cake!
Everyone really enjoyed themselves, learnt a great deal about the issues, and were inspired to take action.
